Flour Fight

Well tonight I was just minding my own business and making "stress balls"(elementary ed major remember??) They were for my health fair project. I was doing it on stress management. You just put flour into a balloon.. simple right? NOT. It became such a disaster. So I asked David for his help (like that would make it less of a disaster?? haha)... and immediately he started spilling the flour. My first reaction in my mind was " babe. seriously. I just cleaned the kitchen. How hard is it to put flour in a balloon." Then I realized my mind sounded ridiculous.. which is a daily thing for me :) It's okay I've accepted this reality. So then naturally after I realized that in my mind I was an old fart I decided to just dab a little flour on Davids nose.. cheeks.. lips.. hair... shirt you get the picture. And thats when the flour fight began...

The mess was totally and completely worth it. I sure love this guy.

I am in LOVE with this song. It's on the trailer that keeps coming on the TV today for the new movie Water For Elephants. And I can't get it out of my head for some reason. Its one of those songs that makes me want to drive in my car with the music blasting and my windows down and sing at the top of my lungs.. poor David. Okay... so the music video is kinda weird and creepy in a way ... BUT if you just minimize it and listen to the song (like I do) I'm sure you will love it too. Happy weekend :)

I just love being an Aunt. Seriously it's the best. Miss Marley is growing up so fast. We were able to go visit this past weekend and I just can't get over how big she is getting! She is smiling, laughing, talking and doing all these new tricks. I am just in love with this little one!

Grateful

Today was one of those days where I was feeling sorry for myself. One of those days when I tried everything on in my closet and nothing seemed to look good because I thought I'm fat and I'm having a bad hair day. The day when I wake up and its a blizzard outside and I go to scrape off my car and slip on the ice... not to mention with a towel on my head.. I bet the neighbors had a good laugh. And to top it off my hubby is gone in sunny beautiful California. He has been going back to this last month or so for days at a time to work hard for us. I have been trying hard to be so supportive but I'll just say it, I MISS HIM! And I just don't like to be alone... So I was just feeling sorry for myself. Poor me alone in my house on a Friday night with nothing to do. Then I thought of Japan.

And how many people are suffering and alone in that country right now. How many have lost their loved ones, their homes, their possessions, and so much more. So I started to feel silly for feeling sorry for myself and my insignificant ridiculous what I thought to be problems. And I started to feel grateful. Grateful for a wonderful, wonderful husband who loves me and works so hard to provide for me and our future. Grateful for a healthy body that is strong and beautiful. Grateful for a warm roof over my head to cozy up in this blizzard. Grateful for a family that loves and supports me no matter what. Grateful for the opportunity to get an education and to be free to do whatever I choose. But most of all I am grateful for a loving savior that loves me even when I feel sorry for myself for the silliest things. Grateful that I am never truly alone. I definitely needed a kick in the butt today and remembering Japan did just that. My heart broke for those people and I just can't imagine what they are going through. But I know one person who does.. who knows what each and every one of us go through on a daily basis. And for that I am grateful. I think I am going to go here tomorrow morning and I can't wait.

Last Sunday I ran 26.2 miles and let me tell you that last .2 seems longer than the whole race! haha My friend Kate ran it with me she is amazing. She has already done a few marathons plus a full Iron Man so she pushed me! It was such an amazing experience. Leading up to the race I was really excited but REALLY nervous. I felt more nervous for this than I have for most soccer games I have played. We got there bright and early and the race started at 6:30!

There was about 2,000 people who ran the half marathon and 20,000 total who did the half marathon and the other shorter races.

I was a little tired... haha all I wanted to do was sit down and take OFF my shoes!!!

My Dad has called me "his WARRIOR" and my mom made this sign. They held it up at mile 25 and when I ran by that sign I couldn't stop smiling. I don't think I could have done it without all my family cheering me on a supporting me!

I DID IT!!! 4 HRS 18 MINUTES 10 SECONDS!

I really thought that I would do this just to say that I ran a marathon and be done with it... but now that I did I could definitely see myself doing another one. It was one of the hardest things i have ever done. But it really teaches you how far you can push yourself. It taught me a lot about myself and made me realize that when I put my mind to something I can do it. I would definitely say if you are thinking about running a marathon.. DO IT! :) it really is worth it!

We celebrated our one year anniversary on December 19th! David surprised me and bought tickets to see West Side Story! The show was amazing.. but unfortunately somebody forgot their camera... what can I say my forgetfulness is just one of my many other attractive qualities :) We went out to dinner, got dessert and the famous MILK in LA and then saw the show. It was such a fun night!

A few days later we celebrated our 2nd Christmas together. Christmas eve we spent with the Thompsons house and started a new pajama tradition that was so fun!

We spent a whole month in California for winter break and David was able to work and was offered a full time position at Votaw starting in May! We are very excited and feel so blessed that David has a job right out of college.

We also celebrated my birthday on Wednesday the 12th! It was such a fun day. We went to dinner with friends and played catch phrase after! For my birthday my Mom and Dad got me this...

Thats right a sewing machine!!! I am so excited to learn how to sew. Even better my friend Nicole got me a 2 hour sewing lesson at JoAnn's for my birthday! So David will probably be getting some home made sweaters and other things haha poor guy.

So we are now back in Cedar in the freezing cold and STARTING OUR LAST SEMESTER!! Can you tell we are a little excited?! I know that one day we are going to look back and these will be some of the best, simple, and fun days and we will miss them. So for now we are going to make the best of this cold weather and make some memories because come May it's goodbye Cedar City hello California!

Miss Marley Anne Goettsche has arrived!!! I am an Aunt and David is an uncle. She graced us with her presence on December 2, 2010 at 9:35 a.m. and she weighed 8 lbs! I was able to go up to Provo this weekend and hold and love on that sweet baby. David couldn't get away from all of his engineering tests projects studying etc etc etc.. (poor guy but finals are almost here and over phhheewww) But I just love her and I am so happy for Eric and BriAnne. It's such a cool experience to grow up and watch my brother become a Dad. He was always such a good big brother.. protective, loving, and always there for me when I needed him... not to mention his relentless teasing but what else are big brothers for :) I can just tell that sweet little girl already has him wrapped around her finger. She is just perfect. I loved being up there and spending the weekend and I just miss her already!!

So now that soccer is over I have been overwhelmed with how much spare time I have. I don't know what to do with myself! It's like the 4 hours the soccer used to take up are free and I'm completely bored. So I decided I need something competitive and athletic to fill up that space. So I've decided to do this:

So I'm going to get a new pair of these (they look pretty sweet and a good Christmas gift right?? hint hint David)

And I'm going to start training! So on February 6, 2011 I will be running 26.2 miles! I am excited.. I never thought I would do a full marathon but I figured what the heck might as well! Wish me luck!

The End Of A Journey

So this past weekend was my last soccer game at SUU. My parents, David's parents and David's sister Jaime and husband Christian all came up to watch and be with us. It was so fun having them there and it meant so much to me! It was definitely emotional and hard to play my last game. It's been a huge part of my life for so long and it's a big part of who I am. I am going to miss the game and the girls a ton! I definitely feel so lucky and blessed to have had the experience to play in college. I made so many memories and friends that I will never forget. This was a game I will never forget. I feel so grateful for the support of my family. I can say that my mom is my number one fan. Since I was a little girl she drove me to countless games, tournaments, practices and never complained. I think I can count on one hand the games that she has missed. My Dad has always supported me and been there when I needed to vent or needed some advice. He missed lots of work and drove lots of hours to come see me play in Cedar. He calls me his warrior :) And of course my husband for watching me for three years, putting up with the countless hours this game requires on and off the field, and listening to me tell you about ALL of it :) I love you all so much!! This journey may have ended but there is a new one just beginning and I'm ready for it!

New Addition to the Family

For all of you who saw this post title and thought baby... sorry to disapoint. But we do have a new addition to our family... meet Tux Thompson!! (short for tuxedo because it looks like he is wearing one) My trainer's husband found three kittens in the engine of his car and she brought them to practice to see if any of us wanted him... I couldn't pass him up. He is so dang cute. We are only keeping him for a few more weeks because our apartment doesn't allow pets and after we graduate we won't be able to keep him anyways. So we found him a good home with Grandma Jo and Uncle Bob come Halloween. But for now I just love this little kitty..

Truths of Life

So I read this in an email and I thought I would share it. Some of these I think are pretty funny and so true. My personal fav's being numbers 5, 7, 15, 20, and 26. Oh the truths of life...

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm prettysure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.
15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dang it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and runaway?
16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
19. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.
20. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
21. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.
22. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
23. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
24. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent an ass from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
25. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
26. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far..
27. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
28. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my behind everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

It's been a while...

So as you can see the beautiful and talented Makell helped beautify my blog for me! She is amazing and so talented! So now I can blog again! So its been FOREVER since I posted last and a few things have happened...

We were sealed for time and eternity in the Newport Beach Temple.

Then we danced and partied at our reception. It was by far the best day of our lives!

We left for our honeymoon.. we went on a cruise to Ensenada. It was fun to spend time together finally as husband and wife!

We got back from our honeymoon and spent our first Christmas and New Years as a married couple with our family and friends.

We went back to Cedar for Spring semester.. but it wasn't quite Spring. We enjoyed our semester of snow, school, soccer, and having our own apartment!

After Spring semester we moved back home to live with my parents. We worked, played, relaxed and enjoyed the summer! We went to some Angel games and some Dodger games where I decided that I am both an angel and dodger fan.. however 60% Angel 40% Dodger :)

We went to weddings.. I was in weddings.. It seemed like all my friends got married this summer!

Now we are back in Cedar finishing our SENIOR YEAR! I am finishing my last season of soccer and David is busy working and going to school. David will graduate in May and I will finish up my student teaching the next fall in California. Cedar is a great place and we are enjoying all the time we have left here. It's crazy how fast time has gone!

Bridal Showers!

We got to go home for Thanksgiving for a whole week last week. It was so good to be home and to see everyone. We are so grateful for our families and we love them so much. Its such a blessing to have their love and support of our upcoming marriage :) While we were home my ward and my family threw me bridal showers! It was so good to see all the ward and my extended family. Everyone was so generous with their gifts. We are so lucky! As David would say, "We got hooked up!" haha so here are a few pictures.

Our First Apartment!!

These last few weeks have been so crazy busy! We finally found a place here in cedar! David's friend Matt bought a house that has a two room one bath basement. There is a separate entrance to the basement so its like our own little home down there! Its a two bedroom with a big family room and kitchen and one bathroom. We were going to live in another apartment but when we saw this place it just felt more like a home to us. Now by the pictures below you might not agree but he's fixing it all up for us! New carpet, new paint, new bathroom tiles, new kitchen cabneits, counters, a new fridge and stove! Its all bran new.. So i know the pictures are rough but I am very excited :)

Stop and Smell the Roses..

So I was gone with my team on a trip for 4 days to Nebraska and Missouri. We ended up loosing both games and it was not a very good weekend.. Needless to say I was not in a very good mood when I got home at 3:30 in the morning after traveling for about 12 hours (2 flights, 1 layover, and one 3 hr car ride). When I came in the house, I found these.. Aren't they pretty??My heart melted..I fell more in love with my fiancé when I saw these waiting for me.. and needless to say my mood changed :) Thanks baby for always thinking of ways to make my day better. I love you!!!

"One Year Ago Today.."

I'm feeling really lucky, blessed, and grateful for my David today.. I wanted to just write how much I love him and how blessed I feel to have found a man who loves me unconditionally every single day. Our "year" is today and it's been such a fun, wonderful year full of memories I love and will never forget. I love David and his positive and happy outlook on life. I love his sense of humor, his big smile and his laugh. I love his desire to work hard and serve others and the Lord. I even love his stubbornness.. most of the time :) He is kind, understanding, loving, honest, compassionate, selfless, and humble. He is constantly spoiling me and making me feel so special, like there isn't another girl in the world. He is my best friend. I love him with all my heart and I can't wait to start counting from a new day on December 19th!

Kannarville Falls!

This past week was our first week of school back at SUU! David finally came back to Cedar last Saturday after we were apart for almost three weeks.. I missed him so much!! We started school on Monday and after classes we went on a hike to Kannaraville Falls with some friends from school. It was such a fun adventure. We hiked through all these beautiful waterfalls! It was pretty awesome!! So here are a few pictures from our hike! We climbed up that ladder to go up that waterfall!

Welcome to our blog!! I'm not quite sure how to set up everything but I'm trying! So i guess here goes our first post! David and I are officially engaged! I cannot tell you how much I love him! He amazes me more and more everyday by the love and kindness he shows me. I feel so spoiled!! He is such an amazing man and I cannot wait to stand by his side through everything life throws at us. David is my best friend and love of my life and we are getting sealed on DECEMBER 19, 2009!!! (115 days.. but who's counting haha) So we got engaged the week before I came up to Cedar and we were so fortunate to have my aunt Tonya who is an A MAZING photographer take our engagement pictures! So I thought I would post a few for a sneak peak before our invitations are sent out! The AMAZING ring David picked out all by himself.. Its absolutely stunning and perfect.. I LOVE IT... We're happy..
